MEXICO CITY, Nov. 4, 2026
Mexico’s first NVIDIA Cloud Partner brings its energy and infrastructure capabilities together with NVIDIA accelerated computing to build a new base for AI production in the region.
MEXICO CITY, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Fermaca today announced its designation as the first NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) based in Mexico, the first of its kind in the region and unveiled an AI factory platform designed to position the country as a producer of advanced AI capabilities for Mexico and Latin America. Beginning with Fermaca Digital Origins in Mexico City, the phased rollout combines Fermaca’s infrastructure development and operating experience with the NVIDIA accelerated computing platform to expand access to the computing capacity businesses and institutions need to build and deploy AI.
Fermaca’s strategy reaches across the physical infrastructure behind AI, from gas molecule to token. It brings the group’s capabilities in gas infrastructure and energy development together with fiber connectivity, AI facilities and accelerated computing. This integrated approach is intended to address the infrastructure constraints that determine where AI can be built and how far it can scale, creating a foundation for Mexico to serve growing demand across the region.
These developments are designed to advance Mexico’s economic progress and strengthen its digital sovereignty by building the capacity to develop and deploy AI on infrastructure located in Mexico. Coupled with local expertise, this capacity can help Mexican businesses, universities and institutions address national priorities and retain more of the knowledge and economic value created by AI.
“Fermaca is investing in Mexico’s capacity to produce intelligence, create economic value and shape its own technological future,” said Manuel Calvillo. “Our ambition runs from gas molecule to token: connecting the energy and digital infrastructure needed to produce intelligence at scale. With NVIDIA accelerated computing, we are extending the infrastructure we know how to build into the computing capacity on which businesses across Mexico and Latin America will increasingly depend. Our purpose is to make these developments a lasting contribution to Mexico’s progress and the prosperity and wellbeing of its communities.”
“We’re excited to support Mexico’s growing AI ecosystem and bring NVIDIA accelerated computing to more businesses and developers,” said Marcio Aguiar, director of enterprise for Latin America at NVIDIA. “As an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, Fermaca is building an AI factory powered by NVIDIA B300 NVL72 systems to help enterprises across Mexico and Latin America develop and deploy AI using their own data.”
A new foundation for AI adoption across the region
Fermaca’s platform is designed to connect regional customers with NVIDIA AI infrastructure in Mexico. Enterprises can use that computing capacity to develop models around their own data and bring AI into their operations, while developers and research institutions gain a foundation for new applications. For NVIDIA and its ecosystem, the rollout creates a new route to serve Mexican and Latin American demand as local AI adoption grows.
Fermaca Digital Origins is the first deployment in the platform, with an initial NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra cluster. A subsequent deployment roadmap incorporates NVIDIA Vera Rubin. Inventec is providing compute systems and DDN is providing storage, with Fermaca responsible for infrastructure development and operations.
“Fermaca is connecting the infrastructure that powers industry with the infrastructure that will power intelligence,” said Paul Bloch, co-founder of DDN. “Its vision creates a significant opportunity for Mexico to become a producer of AI at scale and serve customers across Latin America. DDN is proud to support that ambition with the data infrastructure designed to keep NVIDIA GPUs supplied with data and turn advanced computing into productive AI capacity.”
“Today marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between Inventec and Fermaca. We are excited to combine our engineering expertise and NVIDIA-powered compute systems with Fermaca’s infrastructure capabilities, and we are committed to growing together as Fermaca expands its AI platform across Mexico and Latin America.” – Inventec Corporation
Fermaca’s near-term plan targets 60 MW of total facility power supporting operational AI facilities by December 31, 2027, including computing, cooling and supporting facility systems. Beyond that milestone, Fermaca Digital City in Durango represents a longer-term ambition of up to 1 GW of IT capacity, which measures computing equipment only. These are separate development milestones, with deployment phased as the platform expands.
Fermaca has received the full support of Mexican government authorities at the federal, state and municipal levels, reflecting a shared commitment to building the infrastructure for Mexico’s AI economy. This coordinated support strengthens Fermaca’s ambition to position Mexico as a strategic hub for AI production and services across Latin America and advance the national development objectives of Plan México.
Consistent with its longstanding commitment to the communities where it operates, Fermaca approaches development across the full value chain: from gas and energy infrastructure to engineering, digital connectivity, AI computing and education. The aim is to turn investment into lasting local opportunities, strengthen skills and contribute to Mexico’s shared prosperity and the wellbeing of its people.
Working with NVIDIA, Fermaca continues to develop “México Aprende IA con Fermaca y NVIDIA” whih started in Durango, an education initiative designed to equip university teachers with AI knowledge, teaching resources and practical training they can bring into their classrooms. By preparing educators to reach successive generations of students, the program aims to build local talent and enable more Mexicans to participate in the opportunities created by AI.
